Good news: there are several ways to explore the Luberon, do your shopping or visit the main towns and cities of Provence. Whether you are travelling by car, bike or public transport, here are our tips to help you make the most of your holiday.

Discover the villages of the Luberon

Camping Le Moulin à Vent enjoys an ideal location in the heart of the Luberon. From the campsite, you can easily set off to discover some of the most beautiful villages in Provence.

By bike: a gentle way to explore the Luberon

The small roads of the Luberon are perfect for cycling. You can follow Route 14 – Le Pays d’Aigues à vélo.

Hire a bike from Bees and set off at your own pace towards Cucuron, Ansouis, Lourmarin or Vaugines. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery, lavender fields, vineyards and olive groves while avoiding the parking difficulties that are common in summer.

By 2CV : enjoy a day out of time

How about discovering the Luberon behind the wheel of a legendary Citroën 2CV? With Oh My Deuche, turn your day into a truly Provençal experience. It is an original way to explore the small country roads and take the time to admire the scenery along the way.

Would you rather leave your car at the campsite? Taxi Morra in Cucuron can provide transportation by prior reservation.

Car sharing is also a convenient option for some journeys, using the BlaBlaCar app. Don’t hesitate to coordinate with other holidaymakers and travel together – whether you’re heading to an activity, a market, Cucuron or another nearby village.

Shopping during your stay

Several shops and supermarkets are easily accessible:

SPAR in Cucuron for everyday essentials.
Super U in Puyvert, accessible by motorhome.
Hyper U in Pertuis for larger shopping trips.

Getting to Pertuis without a car

It is perfectly possible to get to Pertuis by public transport.

From the Cucuron Centre / Cave Coopérative bus stop, located 2.5 km from the campsite, take the ZOU! 908 bus to Pertuis SNCF train station.

Journey time: approximately 30 minutes
Fare: €2.50
Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus.

It is a convenient solution for shopping, catching a train or travelling on to other destinations.

A day trip to Aix-en-Provence by public transport

Would you like to spend a day in Aix-en-Provence?

From Cucuron, 2.5 km from the campsite, first take the ZOU! 908 bus from the Cucuron Centre / Cave Coopérative stop to Pertuis SNCF train station.

Journey time: approximately 30 minutes
Fare: €2.50
Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus.

From Pertuis, you can then take bus 100 towards Aix-en-Provence Gare Routière.

Journey time: approximately 30 minutes
Departures every 20 minutes
Fare: approximately €1.20

If you are travelling by car, you can also drive directly to Pertuis SNCF train station, where free covered parking is available before continuing your journey by bus.

A trip to Marseille by bus

Fancy discovering the Old Port, the Calanques or Marseille‘s museums?

From Aix-en-Provence Gare Routière, bus 50 takes you directly to Marseille Saint-Charles.

Journey time: approximately 30 minutes
Very frequent departures, approximately every 5 minutes
Fare: around €7
Tickets are available at the Aix-en-Provence or Marseille bus station.

An excellent way to enjoy Marseille without having to drive or find somewhere to park.

Our tips for making the most of your stay

Although having a car is convenient for exploring the many villages of the Luberon, you don’t necessarily need it every day.

You can mix things up:

a day out by bike,
a trip by public transport to Aix-en-Provence or Marseille,
a day exploring the Luberon in a 2CV,
or simply a walk to Cucuron and its famous pond.

Having different ways to get around means you can travel differently – more peacefully and often more economically.
